Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Neatly handles data when you use the app.

Neatly is a local-first app for tracking subscriptions, recurring payments, trial periods, reminders, and related expense information. The app is designed to work without a user account, without bank connection, and without server synchronization of your payment records.

This policy applies to the Android application published under the brand name Neatly and the store title Neatly: Subscriptions & Bills.

Looking for the rules on using the app? See the Terms of Use.

1. Data stored on your device

Neatly lets you manually create and manage records such as:

  • payment, subscription, service, or recurring expense names;
  • amounts, currencies, billing cycles, due dates, categories, notes, payment links, and payment methods;
  • trial period information and reminder settings;
  • app settings;
  • local backup/export files created by you.

These records are stored on your device. Neatly does not send your payment records to our server.

Neatly does not access your bank account, bank card transactions, financial institution account, or payment provider account. The app does not automatically scan your transactions. Any payment, subscription, trial, or recurring expense record is added or edited manually by you.

Neatly version 1.0 does not include active purchases or subscription billing services. Core tracking features are available locally on your device.

Plus may appear in a future version as a one-time purchase. This Privacy Policy will be updated before its launch if data handling changes.

2. No account

Neatly does not require you to create an account.

Because there is no account system, we do not collect account login information, passwords, profile photos, account names, or account-based identifiers through the app.

Neatly is designed to reduce data exposure by storing payment records locally and by not requiring an account or bank connection.

However, no device, app, storage method, or electronic transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device with appropriate security settings, such as screen lock, operating system updates, and careful handling of exported backup files.

3. Exchange rates

To support currency-related features, Neatly may load public exchange-rate data from third-party sources: the National Bank of Ukraine's public rates API and an open, publicly available exchange-rate dataset delivered through content-delivery networks (jsDelivr and Cloudflare Pages).

These requests retrieve only exchange-rate data. Your payment records, payment names, amounts, notes, due dates, payment links, payment methods, backup files, local database contents, and full record list are not sent with them. As with any network request, the servers that provide this data may receive your device's IP address and process it under their own privacy practices.

4. Notifications and reminders

Neatly may ask for notification permission to send reminders about upcoming payments, trial periods, or recurring expenses.

Reminder information is stored locally on your device. Notifications are created to help you remember dates that you added to the app.

Neatly may also use device-level permissions needed to schedule or restore reminders after device restart. These permissions are used only to support reminder functionality.

5. Support requests

If you contact us by email, we may receive the information you choose to include in your message.

A support request may include your email address, your message, screenshots or files you decide to attach, app version, device model, operating system version, language setting, and technical details needed to understand the issue.

Please avoid sending payment names, amounts, due dates, notes, payment links, backup files, or other private financial information unless it is necessary for your support request.

We use support request information only to answer your message, investigate issues, improve the app, and maintain support records.

6. Third-party services

Neatly may use third-party services for app distribution, optional analytics, diagnostics, and app stability monitoring.

Not sent: Neatly does not send the content of your payment records, backup files, export files, import files, or local database content to these services.

Neatly does not request access to GPS, precise location, or background location. Neatly does not send precise location data, GPS data, or background location data to third-party services.

Third-party services may process limited technical information if optional analytics or diagnostics are enabled. These services may include:

  • Google Play services;
  • Google Analytics for Firebase;
  • Firebase Crashlytics, if crash reporting is enabled.

If optional analytics is enabled, the analytics provider may derive an approximate region from technical network data, such as an IP address. This is used for aggregated analytics and diagnostics, not to track your precise location.

7. Optional analytics, diagnostics, and related choices

Analytics is disabled by default. You can use Neatly without enabling analytics.

You can enable or disable optional analytics in the app settings at any time. Disabling analytics does not affect the core functionality of the app.

Not sent: Neatly does not send your personal payment records to Neatly servers, analytics services, or third-party analytics providers. This includes:

  • subscription names;
  • bill names;
  • amounts;
  • due dates;
  • notes;
  • links;
  • payment methods;
  • custom record details;
  • custom categories created by you;
  • backup files;
  • export files;
  • import files;
  • the full list of your records;
  • the content of your local database.

This information stays on your device unless you choose to export, back up, or share it yourself.

If you enable optional analytics in the app settings, Neatly may send limited technical information to help improve app stability, understand general feature usage, and detect technical problems.

This technical information may include:

  • app interactions;
  • app version;
  • device model;
  • operating system version;
  • diagnostics;
  • crash logs, if crash reporting is enabled;
  • approximate region derived from technical network data, such as IP address;
  • device or app identifiers used by analytics or diagnostics services.

Optional analytics does not include the content of your records.

If analytics is enabled, limited technical analytics and diagnostics data may be retained by Google according to Firebase retention settings. We aim to keep analytics data limited to what is needed for diagnostics, stability, and product improvement.

These services process data according to their own privacy practices.

Advertising is not used in Neatly version 1.0. Advertising may be added in a future version only after this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety section are updated.

8. Data storage and management

Your payment records are stored locally on your device until you delete them, export them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

You can delete records inside the app. You can also remove app data using your device settings.

You can create, edit, export, import, or delete your records inside the app.

You can also choose where to store or share exported backup files and contact us to ask about support-related information you previously sent to us.

Neatly may allow you to export or import your data manually.

When you create an export or backup file, you decide where to store or share it.

Neatly does not automatically upload your backup files to our server. We do not receive the contents of your backup files unless you choose to send them to us, for example when contacting support.

Device-level backup services controlled by your operating system or account provider may operate separately from Neatly depending on your device settings.

Support emails may be retained for as long as needed to respond to your request, keep support history, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

9. Privacy rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data that we process.

Because Neatly does not use accounts and stores payment records locally on your device, we usually cannot access or delete your local payment records for you. You can delete local records inside the app or remove app data through your device settings.

If you contacted us by email or enabled analytics, you may contact us at neatly.app-help@outlook.com with privacy-related requests.

10. Children's privacy

Neatly is not designed for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information through a support request or other channel, contact us and we will review and delete the information where appropriate.

11. International users

If you contact us or enable analytics, limited technical or support-related information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. This depends on the email provider, analytics provider, hosting provider, or other service providers used to operate and support the app.

12. Trademark use

All names, trademarks, and logos belong to their respective owners. The app is not affiliated with these services and uses names or logos only to identify the user's payments.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we add features that materially change how data is handled, such as advertising, new analytics, account functionality, cloud synchronization, or third-party data processing, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, the Google Play Data Safety section before or together with the release of that version.

The updated version will be posted at the same Privacy Policy URL with a new effective date.
